The Buoys are Chris Cousin, Stu Smith and Steve Gibbs. Taking inspiration from many years of producing soundtracks and audio-visual work for theatre, film and installation The Buoys have created an album of cinematic soundscapes using custom-built electronics, field recordings, spitting static and wide screen guitar.

The result is a isolatingly warm album of ambience and texture. Do not let the minimal titles mislead you. For instance, “Absolutely Nothing” definitely is not describing the sound of the track. The guitar speaks as if it’s a dischordant wandering drifter on the open electro-static plains. The titles are merely implying a mood, but far more melodic than the minimalness may convey.

It’s an aural escapade into dark moods and deep pleasure.
